My sentiments exactly - I'm banking on the fact that I have a few cans of tuna in the back of some cupboard somewhere!

Pictures look like it's black. Hence the confusion.

Does anyone know if the patches are embroidered patches that are sewn on or that they are completely embroidered. I think this gi looks great but I'd take the patches off if they are sewn on embroidery patches. But if its all embroidery directly to the gi that would be a huge undertaking that would lead me to pass on this gi.

Idk but it looks like patches, with the gray border around the logo on lapel

    All the patches are embroidered.

"...replacing the sewn-on patches from the 3.0 with higher quality embroideries."

States that they're embroidered. I think the patching isn't over the top, but if you're looking to remove the embroidery, it's probably a huge, tedious amount of work.

So I'm a little confused. I know they are embroidered, but are they embroidered patches that are made separately and then sewn on, or they are embroidered from start to finish?

On second glance, they do look as though they are embroidered patched, but still sewn on...I think that fully embroidering that size of patch would take an astronomical amount of time and effort.

Hopefully we'll get some admin feedback soon :D

I do not own this but my training partner has it, I am pretty sure it has patches that are embroidered then sewn on. the circles are actually embroidered into the fabric. not positive but pretty sure.

I like the little circles. They can stay, haha.

Next problem: size. 6'4" 230lbs, monkey arms/legs, wide shoulders, blocky torso, somewhat athletic build. A4 or A5? Gi calculator says A4 but I don't know if I should trust it. A5 doesn't seem that much biggergoing by the measurements, and there's bound to be some shrinking. Anyone near those dimensions own this gi? Do they shrink much?

They're embroidered. There is no chance of taking them off.

The quality looks really good, it's a shame this gi is so "over-branded". I agree with the earlier post, if i could remove the oversized TATAMI logo i would purchase this gi.

Ah embroidered directly. Ok. A pass then. Too bad they don't offer the "classic" patchless version anymore

I have such a tough time with gi sizes. I'm in the middle of a1 and a2 with most gis. I'm 5'9 and 160 lbs. anyone own a tatami that's close to my size? If so what do you wear?
