obviously not necessary but would be good to buy first gi from the place you train at. Subsequent gis, wherever.

I bought mine from my gym because they actually had my size which is hard to find. Wasnt mandatory though because ours dont have logos or anything on them. Our rash guards were also optional but we bought them so we could look uniform. I dont think its ok to make someone buy something though. You dont mess with peoples financials…

Makes me think they care more about money than teaching and bringing in a variety of athletes. I think offering their brand is a great option, but it shouldn’t be the only option. Also, I think that higher skilled athletes wont be tied down like that, and how good will your training be if they don’t attract the best athletes?

Is nothing more than a cash grab… because is a business not a family. You support the gym by paying your dues. If it wasnt profitable then there wouldnt be as many gyms… or they can close… I can keep going if you want.
