For sizing reference, model is 5'11" and 175 lbs wearing an unwashed A2.
Man, Tom Segura looks great.
Yeah but Bert is still fat
Someone please educate me. A wise man once told me that BJJ students should only wear gis the colors of the belts they’ve earned. Is this true? Is it a faux pas to tie a white belt over a black gi?
Are you planning on someday wearing a purple gi?
It really depends on the gym. Some gyms really dont care as long as your gi is clean and some are very specific.
This is how it was at my school. It was white gi’s for white belts, blue or white for blue belts, and at purple and above, you had your pick of whatever color you wanted. However, other schools i visited after couldn’t care less about gi color. It seems to be on an instructor by instructor basis. Better to just ask plainly than risk causing drama. Easy to prevent the issue, than correct a misunderstanding. Just my experience ??
Yes, some schools make you match the gi to the belt. That's why I'm still waiting for a deal of the day on a Hot Carl brand brown gi. Any chance of this happening soon?
Not sure why question marks got added to the end of my other comment lol.
To each his own, but if your gym cares more about the color of your gi than the ibjjf, you might have a problem.
My proffesor got mad when i took ah grey gi to class hes very traditional 70 year old man but then again that was Dan Zan Ryu jiu jitsu and then when i quit i got into Brazilian Jiu jitsu and my proffesor did not trip on my grey gi guess it all depends on the school
Daedalus, you must've added emoji's at the end of your Sentence... I did that before and it put question marks in their place... Not sure why though?
@duct tape jesus - I only wear purple gis. Now that I'm a purple.
@Gimmebackmydog A Hot Carl is a gi??? That’s something COMPLETELY different here in New Orleans...
White version?
No, it’s the black version
Lol
This is the white version. The black version is a lot darker.
