Order a half size up if you're not sure or a full size up if you're on the line for height especially. Owned this gi and loved it a lot but sold it after a year due to me not accounting for shrink.
I disagree. 6' 225. My best fitting gis are flow A3H, fuji suparito A4. I bought this gi in A4 originally and it was way too big. Bought an A3 and it was still one of my bigger gis
I also disagree with this. Inverted gear ultralights shrink a lot and I would say are one of the smallest gi's I own for their sizing, but the black bamboo I bought about a year and a half ago is still a relatively large a3. Not as big as knoxx, manto, or 93 brand, but still pretty large. I could probably get away with an a2 bamboo while their ultralights a3 fit like a flow a3, which are super small. I'd say slightly larger than hayabusas, but overall the bamboo ones seem to run on the larger end of the sizing range, and that's with at least 20 washes on hot and dryer cycles on max heat.
Can confirm. My A3 is now like an a2.8
Same. Used to fit great and can’t wear it anymore. 5-8, 148 lbs and bought A1. Washed cold/hang dried only. I liked it so much otherwise I just got A1L in rolling deals.
Okay so by the replies, your mileage may vary. In any case, these are shrinky and can be shrunken if too big. You can't un-shrink them though, so...
Im 5’10 195 but im muscular shoudl i get A3 or A2H
@DanTran335 , I bought an A3 at 5'10 and 175lbs and it shrunk to the point that it was unwearable (cold wash, no dry). Sold it to someone who usually wears an A2 and it's too small for them after a few months. I don't have a size recommendation for you but I would just suggest sizing up way more then you usually would with this one.
Adder, how/where did you sell your gi?
I would get that if it was just a tad more white.
ugh ya thats a buy for me dog 👀
Prepare for the sleeves to shrink on these. Got 2 and they're already up to my elbow
Oh my sexy
My inverted gear bamboo gi shrank like crazy. The the sleeves were child length after just a few washes.
so shouldn't buy one? I wanted to order bamboo panda
I dont have a bamboo panda gi, but my ultralight panda gi fits fairly well (A2, 5’10” 180#). I do complain about the ripstop pants, which may be the same with the bamboo gi - the material is always very coarse and rigid after hang drying. The pants can almost stand on their own. I have to wear full spats under these. Only after warmups and getting sweaty do they feel comfortable-ish. I dont have this issue with my other ripstop pants (flow, kitsune, habrok).
Bought this gi in an A3, I'm 175lbs and 5'10 ( a very small A3). It shrunk to the point that it was comedic, my instructor even commented on it's size. I only washed on cold btw. I sold it to someone who usually uses an A2, it quickly became too small for them, although I can't attest to their washing routine. This gi shrinks more than any other I've ever had. Beware.
Shrinkage......like when its cold out...
