Ripstop gis don't shrink as much. They also don't bleed out the color as bad.

You might want to jump on the A4 and just cold wash / hang dry. Otherwise you're better off waiting for an A3L style Gi such as 93Brand, which is tailored for someone with your height and weight (a4/a5 height, a3/a4 weight).

I am 5 foot 6-7 tall, weigh 155-160 lbs, and wear a waist size of 32. For the 93 Brand Hooks 2.0 gi I fit perfectly in their A1.

I'm thinking A2 for this. Does that sound like the best size for me?

A2 would probably be loose but the A1 would probably be a little tighter more tailored.

A3 might be a bit loose right out of the bag, but if you warm wash and heat dry, it'll get you the best fit from this Gi.

It might be, yes, but it is your best bet for this Gi (with a warm wash and heat dry).

This gi is cheap for a reason. It will literally stand up on its own. Doesn't conform to the body it is like wewring a stiff card board cut out.

Should be able to use fabric softener on this Gi, soften it up.......shouldn't unravel like other weaves.....but I could be wrong. I like the look of it, I like the price, but, does it perform?

I found a review that says it's 2.1kg, is that heavy for a typical gi?

@pipo depends which size. Most of my A2 and A3 Gis are between 4-5 lbs (2.1kg = 4.6 lbs), so no, this is not heavy by any means. It may be stiffer than a soft/pliable weave, but it is not heavier.
