Please stop posting awesome things. 31 inch waste, female. The plan is to trim down a bit... go for the 30? Would it be too tight?
I'd suggest 30", especially if youre dropping weight.
This is my first time buying shorts like these. My natural waist is high and narrower than my hips. Where are you supposed to take the measurement for size?
It depends on where you want to wear your shorts. Take it where you want to wear your shorts.
Bought 👍🏼
First time buying this style of short. Hoping I like the way they fit.
Other colors soon to follow I hope? This white belt wouldn't want to be mistaken for a purple belt. 😆
I know how that is. I have some lime green shorts and people always accuse me of being a lime green belt when I wear em.
Just wondering what the sizing is like for these. I want to order them but I'm a girl and don't want them to be too baggy or too tight around my thighs. My waist size is a 28 but I always have the issue with pants/shorts fitting my butt and thighs but then leaving a gap around my waist OR fitting my waist but being too tight around my butt and thighs. Any advice I really need grappling shorts!
28" should be fine. Model has hips and narrow waist and they suit her well.
All of my other shorts say 34 and they fit fine, but I checked my waist today and it's at a 36. Keeping in mind I plan on cutting a little in the near future, should I go with 34 or 36?
34"
Are these only available today on bjjhq, or will they also be on rollmore.com?
They'll be on rollmore also.
I'm a 31 waist. Will 32 be too baggy?
If you have thin to average thighs, I'd round down to 30". If you have thicker thighs, 32" will be fine.
Aside from you belt who cares what color you wear. All this ranked shit is just obnoxious. Belts are ranked. anyone that wants to be buttsore about the color of anything else is a tool.
Only womens?
If so, that other chick in the photo might just want to start waxing. ?? Just 'cause it's purple doesn't necessarily mean it's "for women". ?? Also, SO BOUGHT.
They're men's sizes and a men's cut. We need to tell our male model Andy AKA @jiujitsubatman he needs to manly it up in the pics.
...you think they're women's only because they're purple?
how difficult will it be to remove the internal compression layer.
We haven't tried, but shouldnt be too difficult. Just need to turn em inside out and take seam rippers or sharp scissors to all the stitching (primarily around the waist line).
Why not just buy regular shorts.....?
Reading the comments around color (purple) encourages me to ask "Why such an odd color choice?" I've felt the same about the rash guard and spats combos as well. I love the products and the value provided here and on Rollmore, but why not go more conservative or neutral? In this case a grey camo would be rad and perceived more gender neutral. I would think that's just smarter marketing. Only my opinion ...not worth much.
We appreciate the observation and input. If male grapplers cant get over purple being a 'feminine' color, I don't know what to tell 'em! And I feel for their gender identity struggles when they get promoted to purple belt. . .
Got these. Historically in the West, purple is the color of royalty.
I wasn't saying purple gave me "gender issues", but it obviously does others based on earlier posts. My personal ask is for neutral colors from a style standpoint and in making more sales - while also appeasing those feeling their masculinity being challenged by anything considered lavender. For example, most of my jeans are blue (neutral) while shirts are all over the place. I'm not opposed to purple - just wouldn't be my first choice. Of course, it's my OCD that probably is struggling to figure out what matches. How does that relate to skills on the mat? It doesn't ...at all ...and, yes, my OCD submits when belt color no longer coordinates with gi color.
"and, yes, my OCD submits when belt color no longer coordinates with gi color" Lol :) My hang up was the opposite; at blue belt i never wore blue gis because it was too uniform. FWIW 93brand does have black/grey shorts, all black shorts, light grey shorts, dark grey shorts, navy shorts, all white shorts, etc. Sometimes you've got to be edgy though. . . sprinkle a little purp in there :-D The Black/Purple Hooks was one of the best selling Gis thus far.
My concern would be "why are you wearing purple belt ranked shorts"...
Most people's issues with purple isn't that they think it's a women's color, it's that it's not representative of their belt rank
I'd like to take this moment to take 93brand for tapping misogyny and not "appealing to people who have issues with their masculinity"! If my coach wanted to promote me to pink belt, I'd wear the hell out of that thing proudly while continuously smashing all my opponents! Keep making dope gear and keeping my pockets thin! BOUGHT
"why are you wearing purple belt ranked shorts?" I've never heard of ranked shorts. If you're going no-gi and the color of your shorts is an issue, you may be at a weird school.
