Compared to the previous 10x5 mats we've sold, these mats have slightly reduced thickness so they're a bit lighter: Each 93brand Mat is 1-3/16" thick. For reference, other mats we've sold (e.g. HQ Mat Co, Fuji) were typically 1-1/4" thick, which is great for full-blown sparring, whereas these new 93brand mats are geared more toward groundwork/drilling/teaching at home, rather than forceful takedowns.93brand offers the two surface options that have proved most popular (Smooth and Tatami) as well as their Komodo Smooth texture... which offers a bit more grip than classic Smooth without quite as much friction as Tatami (in case youre more sensitive to mat burn). Yes, the HQ mats have stocked left so they'll return when the list repeats. Plus the 93brand mats are slotted at number 23 (we're currently at number 7) so they'll be up for their 8min slot pretty soon.
