I recommend this gi all day long! Very classy looking gi! Sharp lines and great fit. The pants are slimmer than alot of other gi's I have worn, so there isnt a ton of material for opponents to grab onto. They have gi material in the crotch of the pants for durability. I love it!

Hi - I'm 5'8" 160-170... short arms & athletic build. I usually wear an A2, but seem to be between A1-A2 on your size chart. What is recommended?

I am 5'6.5" 185 and stocky. I like a little bit of a tighter fit, should I go with A1? Also, is this a "lighter" more breathable gi?

p.s. Don't like to cold wash and hang dry.

6'4" 280 lbs athletic and long limbs. I have the hardest time finding gi's that fit well, A5's I have bought in the past are tight in the shoulders and loose in the waist. What are your recomendations? Thanks.

Hey David, pants are 10oz drill cotton. They are very comfortable :). A2 is the right size. They use a stretchy rope drawstring that is pretty much the standard for today's gis. Hope that helps!

I would go A3 because of your height, but it will be a little looser on you so you can wash and dry it normally. If you went A2, you would have to cold wash hang dry because it would shrink up too much on you otherwise.

It all depends on what your personal preference is. I personally like a slimmer fit to my gi, but I know alot of people who enjoy and feel alot more comfortable in a looser fitting gi. You will find out once you have been in a gi for a couple months :)

You could go either way. If you want to dry your gi in the dryer then go with the A1 (personally thats what i would do). or if you would rather hang dry then go A0

So I'm kind of torn between an a2 and a a1. I am 155 5'10. I like a slimmer fit (not skin tight) any suggestions on that ? I just dont like loose gis whatsoever. sick gi by the way.

Honestly, it you are looking for a slimmer fit, I don't think that this gi will fit the way you want because you would need an A2 to fit your height and I am afraid the top may be looser than you like for your weight. Hope that helps and thanks for the compliment :)

6"4 190 pounds what size GI do you suggest. The A4 in the chart has a 220 plus weight class little bit worried about to much material.

An A4 will be really baggy on you. I think the A3 will fit you better. The sizing chart is not an absolute. There is variation depending on the individual.

I would like to express my discontent over an order I recently placed with BJJHQ. Some time ago, a Tatami hoodie was listed on the site for thirty-five dollars. What immediately drew my attention was the color scheme. The garment in the picture was a rich shade of purple with orange drawstrings. I thought it would make a nice addition to my wardrobe, a sentiment made all the more profuse given the hoodie so adequately reflected my passion for jiu jitsu. The product that arrived at my doorstep shortly thereafter was not equivalent to the one that had been depicted online. Rather than purple, this hoodie was gray. Now... this wasn't a huge deal to me. Granted it was unexpected, I would not describe myself at that particular moment as dissatisfied. I weigh approximately 155 lbs. and stand roughly six feet tall. So naturally, I had ordered a large. I can sometimes fit a medium, but there's always the potential that a garment will shrink. And "shrink" is a gross understatement in this case. After just ONE wash, the hoodie is literally unwearable. The space between the hood and the collar has receded to the point where I am in physical discomfort while wearing the hoodie. Essentially, I have paid $35 for a product I can no longer use. I feel betrayed by the use of deception to entice potential customers into making a purchase, especially more so since I have bought several items through BJJHQ in the past. Needless to say, I shall think twice before buying anything else from BJJHQ in the future.
