The "Paneled knee for a more natural tapered fit" is annoying as the lower seam rides across the kneecap when ya sit down. Pull it up higher to avoid this and the tight ankle cuffs cut off blood flow to your feet. Push 'em down and you're in danger of flashing pubes from the low-rise waistband and it looks like there's a heavy load in the saggy rear. Material feels comfy tho. Tatami joggers are better IMO

Never know if stuff fits small or not (I'm looking at you 93 brand) so with a 34" waist my choices are: A. L - gangrene in my legs or B. XL - so much extra material they flap about like sails in a hurricane.

I don't think so. And pretty sure canvas is made from cotton so this is a 100% cotton gi. I think the weaving process is different and the weave is what makes canvas canvas. It's typically considered strong and semi-waterproof so I think wearing this is gonna be like rolling in a Civil War era army tent in summer. Hot AF and you're gonna get all body trench foot.
