I'm 5'10" and 166lbs right now, but plan to slowly cut down to the 150-155 range. Should I go with the A1S or A2? Also how much does this gi shrink? Thanks

Go with a2. And I believe vulkans are made more for the bulky / broad shoulder type. I'm 5'9 165 and I got the pro light in a2,but I had to shrink it to make it fit better so an a2 should fit well on you

For me a have a vulkan pro light. I'm 5'9 and a bit, 155-160, and i find that everything is a little too wide for me. When i first got the gi i had to throw it in the dryer a few times to shrink it down and still its not a great fit

I think you should always expect skrinkage, so A2 may be a safer bet. Then again, A2 looks a little big for you, so either you can get an A2 and shrink it a ton and hopefully it won't be too baggy, or get an A1 and try to prevent shrinking by washing cold and not drying, and hopefully it won't get too small.

I think w3 might be a bit too big to shrink, 6'1 to 5'5 is a long way to go. I wouldn't think that 4 lbs is much of a difference, so personally i would go with w2, but then again I don't know how women's sizes differ from men's

JEM: I would assume so, they are compression after all and will stretch to a good fit.
Juan: 32-34 would probably be good if you don't want them to be too loose after a while

These are just my guesses, I measure 33 inches in my waist and always go with the 30-32 in anything and they always fit me right. There's also a size recommendation thing on the side, which has helped me choose my size as well

I would say hold off on buying this gi, it seems the dimensions won't be any good for her. Either you'll have to get a long enough gi and it'll be extremely wide and baggy, or you'll get one with good width that's way too short.

A3 seems like a better fit, although I don't know how your academy gi fits. An A2 will probably be tight around the armpits, and you'll be able to shrink an A3 down to your liking.
